MULTIDISCIPLINE ARTIST & RESEARCHER

Is a Painter, designer, sculptor, performance artist, nature artist, and art Educator. He is currently in his final year as he pursues a master’s in technology (MTECH) Graphics design at Takoradi Technical University in Ghana. His works bridge prehistory and contemporary dialogues. His style of painting springs from a symbolical fetus and figurative silhouette of humanity to express ideas from an African perspective into contemporary worldly discussions.

MULTIDISCIPLINE ARTIST

“Art has always been around me since childhood,” says Oscar Korbla Mawuli Awuku, who is a Ghanaian multidisciplinary artist”. His body of work explores pre-colonial culture but also addresses decolonised practices in contemporary culture, the essence of identity of the black body, advocates for women and seeks to ask empowering questions in society. He calls his art Anansinism. It comprises the adinkra (symbols) collection which is all about black heritage.

MIXED MEDIA

Anita graduated  of Takoradi Technical University. She works both with painting and in mixed media techniques, where she, among other things, works with the experiments with creating art out of waste plastic.

Anita characterizes her art as environmental activism, where she examines the use of waste plastics and the destruction it causes to nature.
